Aston Villa and Sunderland have been battling it out at the bottom of the Premier League all season, but now they are both chasing the signature of the Everton and former-Manchester United midfielder, Darron Gibson.
Sky Sports reported on air this morning how Gibson would be available on a loan from The Toffees as he looks to gain more first-team football to ensure he gets on the Republic of Ireland’s plane for Euro 2016 in France.
Gibson has not featured for Everton since December and has had a season to forget so far with injuries restricting his game time.
Everton signed Gibson in 2011, but he has only made 48 appearances since then. The most appearances he has mustered in a season is 23 back in the 2012-13 campaign.
The Irishman garnered a negative reputation at Manchester United for his negative style of play, but when fully fit at Everton he has played an important role.
