Aston Villa have suffered a potential setback in their pursuit of Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Marcelo Brozovic after the price for the Croatian is said to be as high as £18 million. The Sports Witness report.
Brozovic, a target of both Arsenal and Villa, has been in superb form this season for Inter Milan on loan from Zagreb; inevitably attracting interest from the Premier League.
The Croatian international has displayed tremendous ability for Inter so far this campaign, demonstrating his defensive capabilities as well as his dangerous attacking credentials, bagging three goals so far for the Italian outfit this season.
It comes as no surprise to see Villa looking for reinforcements, however, one of Brozovic’s prestige and price is unlikely to be seeking a move to a club that are in a considerably worse situation than Inter.
However, if boss Remi Garde is to mount a genuine comeback and fight for survival, a player of Brozovic’s skill and talents will be needed to claw themselves back into the standard required.
Brozovic has played 14 games for his native Croatia, impressively scoring three goals for his country.
Would Brozovic be the perfect signing for Villa, or do they need to strengthen their defence before considering bolstering their options ahead?
