Villa face competition for Seydou Doumbia

Aston Villa are said to be in talks with Ivory Coast International Seydou Doumbia to bring him to the club on loan, giving Villa a big boost before the end of the transfer window.

But according to Di Marzio, It seems that Newcastle are trying to scupper any chance of a deal for Villa, who themselves are in desperate need for a striker.

Doumbia has a great scoring record in Russia, but a transfer to Roma hasn’t worked out for the Ivorian and is being touted to clubs across Europe. Fenerbache have already failed to attract the striker to Turkey.

During his first stint in at CSKA Moscow scoring 61 goals in 95 games.

Aston Villa are rock bottom of the Premier League, with very little hope of getting out of the mess they find themselves in.

The Villans are in desperate need of a goalscorer and it seems Remi Garde is willing to risk the high wages and a loan fee for the chance of firing Villa out from the bottom of the table.
