Nathan Baker could leave Villa Park this summer with Bristol City showing an interest.
Baker’s future has been further raised over recent days with manager Roberto Di Matteo expected to complete the signing of Bournemouth defender Tommy Elphick soon.
The Bristol Post report that Bristol City boss Lee Johnson is monitoring Baker’s situation closely and could make a move for him permanently or on loan from Villa Park.
The defender spent last season out on loan at Ashton Gate and impressed as the Robins evaded relegation with Baker appearing 38 times.
Baker came through Aston Villa’s youth system but has often struggled to keep a first team place at B6 with injuries often plaguing the centre-half. He made his first team debut in 2011.
Roberto Di Matteo has already said how he wants to cut the squad at the Villans as he believes it is already too big.
Would you like to see Nathan Baker stay?
