Aston Villa have joined Swansea City, Middlesborough and Leeds United in the race for the Wales international Chris Gunter from Reading according to reports.
Wales Online report via the Mirror that the former Nottingham Forest defender has got a £1-million release clause in his current deal at Reading.
The 26-year old has been impressing so far in Euro 2016 for Wales and his marauding runs and solid defending have created an interest in the right back.
Gunter who joined Reading in 2012 from Nottingham Forest came through the Cardiff City youth system before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 but made the move to Forest in 2009.

He has made 166 appearances at in the blue and white hoops of Reading since his move.
Roberto Di Matteo has already made one signing this summer in Tommy Elphick with the first team squad returning to training on Wednesday ahead of their Championship campaign.
