Aston Villa target Ross McCormack has widely reported got a £12-million buyout clause at fellow Championship side Fulham, but that is said to be out of date as of 1, July.
Simon Jones from the Mail Online reports that Fulham could well have to sell the Scottish international this summer to be able to invest in a squad to make them promotion challengers.
Roberto Di Matteo is keen to strengthen his forward line this summer and McCormack could be the man to fire Villa back to the Premier League. He has scored an incredible 66 times in the past three seasons and has courted plenty of interest.
Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the forward but they have confirmed the capture of Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle for a reported £10-million so a move for McCormack does look out of the question.
Therefore, a move to Villa Park this summer may seem more likely for the 29 year old.
