Aston Villa have not made a bid for Kodjia

Aston Villa have not tabled a bid for the Bristol City striker Jonathon Kodjia according to the Robins manager Lee Johnson.

Earlier on today we reported that Get French Football news believed the Villans had tabled a bid for the forward, who bagged 20 goals in his first season of English football, but now seemingly those reports were not true.

Kodjia was Bristol’s top scorer last season scoring on 19 times after making a £2 million move from French side Angers last summer.

It was said that Sunderland, Stoke City, Derby County and Villarreal all have an interest in the frontman as well.

The news will come as a huge blow to Villa fans who are hopeful of securing a new striker ahead of the new Championship season. They have previously been linked with Patrick Bamford, Dwight Gayle and Ross McCormack with all of them seemingly ruled out.
