Aston Villa are one of a few Championship clubs showing an interest in the Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto according to local media reports.
The Liverpool Echo report that Liverpool are seeking a fee of around £6 million for the Spaniard who spent last season out on loan at Deportivo La Coruna.
The 23 year old was a target for his former side Sevilla only for a move to fall through, but now a move to elsewhere in England seems likely with Aston Villa joining Wolverhampton Wanderers and QPR in the race for him.
Alberto impressed in the Spanish top division last season where he made 29 appearances and scored six whilst assisting seven times.
He hasn’t featured in a Liverpool shirt since January 2014 and has struggled to settle in since his initial move from Sevilla in 2013. He spent the year before last out on loan at Malaga where he also put in some strong performances.
