Aston Villa could be about to offload defender Joleon Lescott to Leeds United on a free transfer according to reports.
John Percy from the Telegraph reports that the defender could leave Villa Park on a free transfer, even though he has a few years remaining on his current deal in the Midlands.
The news will be well received by Villa fans with Lescott facing the brunt of criticism for the club’s demise last season after infamously tweeting a picture of a car after a 6-0 drubbing to Liverpool and insisting it was a weight off the player’s shoulders after being relegated from the top flight.

Lescott only joined last summer from West Bromwich Albion for £1.3 million, but now the Villans are willing to let him go to free up the wage bill with Lescott being one of the higher earners at B6.
It is said that Leeds are considering their move for Lescott.
