The 23-year-old has struggled in previous loan spells with Crystal Palace and Norwich in the Premier League but was named the Championship player of the year with Middlesbrough in 2015.

With little chance of breaking into the Chelsea side under Italian Antonio Conte, Roberto Di Matteo is said to be close to agreeing a loan deal for the youngster.
Di Matteo has Ross McCormack, Jordan Ayew, Rudy Gestede and Libor Kozak at his disposal, though Ayew had been attracting interest from elsewhere.
Bamford moved from Nottingham Forest to Chelsea in 2011 but has not been able to kick on with his career, mostly due to the sheer amount of financial backing the club receives from owner Roman Abramovich. With strikers such as Diego Costa Michy Batshuayi already at the club and Romelu Lukaku targeted it certainly spells the end for Bamford’s Chelsea career.
