Schalke are one of the teams that could sign Amadou Diawara from Bologna, although they will have to battle Aston Villa and multiple Serie A teams.
Sport1 suggests that the 19-year-old is trying to force a move from Bologna after not training with the side, and that local TV station Sport Italia have mentioned Schalke as a possible destination.
There have been multiple reports recently that English side Aston Villa have already offered just shy of £15 million for the midfielder. The side from Birmingham were relegated from the Premier League last season, but now have a new owner.
Another team in the Serie A might be a more interesting option for Diawara. AC Milan and Napoli are mentioned in Sport1’s report, and would mean that the Guinean star would be able to stay in Italy.
The Birmingham Mail have also said that Roma and Juventus were looking at the midfielder alongside AC Milan, but that the Serie A champions are the only Italian team left in the running.
Diawara spent his first season in the Serie A with Bologna last year, after joining the side from San Marino. While he didn’t score any goals, he impressed fans in his 34 league games.
The 19-year-old wouldn’t be the first teenage signing of Schalke if the rumours are true. Swiss star Breel Embolo joined the Miners in June for a reported €20 million.
