Villa Make Enquiry For French Midfielder

According to the Birmingham Mail, reports in France have declared that Aston Villa have made an enquiry about Amiens midfielder, Guessouma Fofana.

An article from French newspaper L’Equipe, recently stated that Stoke had a bid turned down for the 24-year-old . The same article goes on to report that Norwich have also made contact with the player’s agent.

The defensive midfielder, who was born in France, but has declared allegiance to Mali, has been playing at Amiens since 2015. He has made 37 appearances for the club and has scored 2 goals. Amiens are currently 7th in Ligue 2, the second tier of French football, but they have not won a match since the end of November.

Steve Bruce is looking to recruit this transfer window so that he can put his personal stamp on the squad and the middle of the park is one place that he desperately needs to improve. As a result, Villa have already been connected with a wide range of center midfield options and they have recently lodged a £3 million pound bid for Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury.
