The 2020/21 season has come to a close and Frederic Guilbert is on his summer holidays after being overlooked for the European Championships by France national team manager Didier Deschamps.

The 26-year-old didn’t stand a chance of making the 26-man squad, but he’s not letting it get him down if his social media antics are anything to go by. Guilbert has kept fans updated with his activities on his Instagram stories.

Guilbert shared a video and some pictures of him and friends having a meal at Restaurant La Petite Plage Saint-Tropez – a Michelin star French dine-in. He was accompanied by Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba and USL Dunkerque winger Malik Tchokounte among others.

The uncapped Frenchman played with Samba and Tchokounte at SM Caen, and the trio still appear to be good friends as shown in the pictures. Guilbert has a few weeks off while Euro 2020 is being played before he has to return to Bodymoor Heath for pre-season training.

He’s made 31 appearances in all competitions since joining Villa in 2019 and will no doubt hope 2021/22 will lead to more opportunities.
