Emi Martinez has been very active on social media in recent weeks, posting various pictures and videos of his activities on and off the pitch. The 29-year-old has been enjoying the October international break with Argentina, and the latest gallery on his Instagram story showcased exactly that.

Martinez has played three times for the national team this month – a 0-0 draw with Paraguay on October 8, a 3-0 win over Uruguay on October 11 and a 1-0 win over Peru on October 15. He’s kept clean sheets in all the World Cup South America qualifiers and will return to Villa in great spirits.

The 29-year-old has no more internationals until November, but he could miss Villa’s Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday due to him representing Argentina. Birmingham Live believe he might be back in time to play against Wolves, but time will tell if Dean Smith gives him the nod.

Martinez, who has made six appearances this season, conceding six goals and keeping three clean sheets, didn’t play immediately after the September international break, so there’s no guarantee he’ll feature. Jed Steer will be waiting in the wings.
