Douglas Luiz would have been disappointed how Aston Villa lost 3-2 to Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend, but it appears he’s already over it if his Instagram story is anything to go by.
Win or lose, the 23-year-old regularly posts on social media to keep fans updated with his activities, and he’s recently put up a boomerang while wishing John McGinn a happy birthday.
Luiz was doubtful for the Wolves clash as he’d represented Brazil just one day before starting for Villa. The defensive-midfielder played 19 minutes in Brazil’s 4-1 win over Uruguay on Friday and then was given the nod against Wolves on Saturday – he played 67 minutes at Villa Park.
It was a big call by Dean Smith and nearly paid off as Villa went 2-0 after Luiz was replaced by Marvelous Nakamba, but Wolves scored three goals in the last 10 minutes to pick up all three points from the jaws of death. Next up for Villa is a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on Friday, October 22.
Luiz will no doubt be desperate to get back on track after suffering consecutive Premier League defeats.
