Frederic Guilbert isn’t currently at Aston Villa as he joined Racing Strasbourg on a season-long loan in August, but he’s not wasting his time at the Stade de la Meinau if his Instagram story is anything to go by.
The 26-year-old has been a regular under Julien Stéphan and has enjoyed a bright start to life back in France. Guilbert has made seven Ligue 1 appearances this season, the last of which came in Strasbourg’s 4-0 win over Lorient, and he marked the occasion with a picture on social media.
Guilbert then posted a snap of his daughters, having recently celebrated the birth of his youngest. Although the Frenchman wanted to establish himself at Villa, it does appear he’s having a great time back at Strasbourg.
The 26-year-old has two years remaining on his deal at Villa Park but doesn’t look likely to see them out as he’s been on the periphery for some time. Guilbert has made 32 appearances in all competitions since his 2019-move to the Midlands, but he’s currently behind Matty Cash in the pecking order.
Strasbourg are seventh in Ligue 1, so they’re doing a lot better than Guilbert’s parent club.
