Some fans say ‘fantastic’ Emi Buendia is a ‘class’ player

Aston Villa drew 2-2 with Manchester United on Saturday evening and Emiliano Buendia delivered one of his best performances since joining on a five-year deal from Norwich City.

No Villa player had more successful dribbles, created more chances, had more shots on target and won more freekicks, so he deserved Birmingham Live’s player rating of 9/10. Fans on social media lauded his contribution too.

Against Man Utd, Buendia played for 90 minutes, had 79 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 78% of his 59 passes, created four chances, had two shots with both hit the target, made two tackles, won four freekicks, made one interception and had four successful dribbles.

The 25-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal with three assists. Buendia struggled for consistency upon his arrival from the Canaries but is putting in better performances of late. His showing against United is viewed as his best for the Villans by fans and Steven Gerrard now has a talented array of attackers at his disposal.

Next up for Villa is a trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday.

In other news, some fans say ‘amazing’ Jacob Ramsey is ‘so underrated’

matchday.
