Aston Villa plan another winger signing after Garnacho deal

Aston Villa plan to recruit another winger following Alejandro Garnacho’s arrival, although further business is expected to depend on player departures.

The latest Aston Villa winger transfer update places Leon Bailey’s proposed move to Hull City at the centre of those plans.

Garnacho has already joined Unai Emery’s squad from Chelsea on an initial season-long loan. Villa nevertheless want to add another wide attacker before the transfer window closes.

Jacob Tanswell reports that the club are likely to wait for an outgoing deal before advancing that search.

Bailey is the player most likely to create space. The Jamaica international is discussing a move to newly promoted Hull, but salary terms and the financial structure have not been agreed.

The latest update relayed by Villa Report states that another winger remains on Villa’s recruitment agenda once departures have taken place.

Aston Villa winger transfer depends on Leon Bailey exit

Bailey’s departure would remove a senior salary from Villa’s wage bill and open another place in Emery’s attacking group.

Hull are interested, but the clubs have not yet settled whether the move will be permanent or how the overall package would be structured.

ReadAstonVilla reported that Villa want between £12million and £20million for Bailey. Hull had been exploring a loan, while Villa preferred a permanent solution.

The 28-year-old has also attracted interest from Celta Vigo and Trabzonspor. However, he is thought to favour remaining in England, making Hull a realistic destination if an agreement can be reached.

Garnacho adds direct pace from the left, but Villa still lack depth across both flanks following Morgan Rogers’ departure. Another winger would give Emery greater freedom to rotate and alter his attacking shape.

The Aston Villa winger transfer search is therefore active but not yet ready to accelerate. Bailey’s situation must move forward before Villa commit money and squad space to another arrival.
