Aston Villa linked with Gonzalo García as €70m obstacle emerges

Aston Villa reportedly have Gonzalo García on their radar, but Fulham’s stance could leave any future move costing up to €70million.

Ekrem Konur, writing for 4-4-2 on 30 September, claims Villa admire the Spanish striker’s tactical flexibility, with Arsenal also following his progress.

The 22-year-old only joined Fulham from Real Madrid this summer, making the reported interest an early test of his new club’s resolve.

Gonzalo García to Aston Villa faces January obstacle

According to Konur, Fulham have ruled out a winter sale and could require offers in the €60million–€70million range before considering a future departure.

Any Villa approach would still need confirmation.

Fulham’s official player profile confirms García signed a five-year contract running until summer 2031, with an option for another 12 months. That gives the London club considerable contractual security.

Villa have already invested in Nicolas Jackson, whose early impact recently drew praise from Alan Hutton.

Any further striker spending would therefore require a clear plan for how another forward fits around the options already available to Unai Emery.

Villa host Fulham on 31 October during their nine-game run across 30 days. That could give supporters a closer look at García before the January window.
