Aston Villa join Arsenal in race to sign Real Madrid wonderkid

Endrick Aston Villa

Aston Villa are progressing well after a slow start to the season. Unai Emery’s side is looking like a unit again after a slow start with their next game coming up against Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League.

Aston Villa were interested in Barcelona’s arch rival Real Madrid’s forward Endrick in the summer. However, expectations of playing time and his own decision to fight for his place under new manager, Jose Mourinho made him stay in Madrid.

Now, amid lack of playing time and finding himself down the pecking order at Real Madrid, Endrick is reportedly keen on a loan move in January.

Aston Villa are among clubs that are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid forward Endrick, with Unai Emery looking to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the January transfer window.

The Brazilian youngster is attracting interest from several European clubs, with Arsenal, AC Milan and Roma also monitoring his situation, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Endrick has struggled to secure regular first-team opportunities at the Santiago Bernabeu and could consider another move away in search of more playing time.

Aston Villa face competition for Endrick

The 20-year-old has made just two La Liga appearances this season, with competition for places limiting his involvement.

Despite his reputation as one of Brazil’s most exciting young talents, Endrick has found it difficult to establish himself in the starting XI under Jose Mourinho. The likes of Mbappe, Diomande and Rodrygo has limited his chances, with regular minutes hard to come by.

He was linked with a move away during the summer, but new manager Jose Mourinho was reportedly keen to keep him at the Spanish giants.

However, his situation has not improved, and the forward could now push for another departure when the January window opens.

Unai Emery is keen to bring him to Villa Park as the possibility of competing in the Champions League make a move an attractive option for the Brazilian.

Endrick could leave Real Madrid in January

Endrick previously spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, where he scored eight goals in 21 appearances.

The forward will be looking for a similar opportunity to develop his game, rather than spend another season struggling for minutes at Real Madrid.

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has also spoken highly of the youngster, praising his pace, finishing and ability on the ball.

“His accuracy is off the charts, he’s quick and he still has a lot to improve with the ball.

“But, wow, his dribbling, his runs, the shot he has, he could even score a second goal easily with that great strike off the post. He is just spectacular.”

Villa will face competition from Arsenal and several other European clubs, but Emery’s interest could give the Premier League side a chance to land one of Brazil’s most highly rated young forwards.
