No Premier League player has created more chances than Jack Grealish (55), no Premier League player has been fouled more (73), and only Adama Traore (53) and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa (50) have made more successful dribbles (44) than the Aston Villa man, so it’s no surprise that he’s been linked with a move away from […]
Aston Villa have confirmed that Trezeguet will miss Friday evening’s Premier League meeting with Manchester United. The 26-year-old is ‘still recovering’ from a hamstring injury that he picked up in November’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham United and hasn’t featured in any competition since. Trezeguet has made 10 appearances across the board this season, supplying […]
Aston Villa will be without Wesley Moraes in Friday evening’s Premier League meeting with Manchester United, but the 24-year-old is nearing a return from injury. Wesley ruptured his cruciate ligament 12 months ago in Villa’s 2-1 win over Burnley and has been sidelined ever since. The Brazilian international is on the recovery trail, however, and […]
Dean Smith isn’t short on options out wide with Jack Grealish, Trezeguet, Anwar El Ghazi and Bertrand Traore at his disposal, but Trezeguet is the only one of the four that hasn’t fired this season. The 5ft 9in 26-year-old hasn’t scored in the Premier League since July and hasn’t made an assist since October, so […]
Aston Villa aren’t short of creative midfielders with Ross Barkley, Conor Hourihane, Jacob Ramsey and Henri Lansbury on the books, but Barkley is only on loan for the season, Lansbury has been on the periphery all season and Hourihane has only scored one Premier League goal in 2020. The Villans could do with bringing in […]
Ollie Watkins has scored eight goals and supplied two assists in 17 games for Aston Villa since joining on a five-year deal from Brentford in September, but Dean Smith doesn’t have a backup option in case of injury. Wesley Moraes is still recovering from injury while Keinan Davis has been short of form and playing […]
Aston Villa have a strong starting eleven that can hold their own against most Premier League clubs, but one problem Dean Smith has is a lack of depth, particularly in defensive-midfield. Douglas Luiz and John McGinn would get into most sides, but Marvelous Nakamba is the only backup Smith can call upon from the bench. […]
Jaden Philogene-Bidace has an uncertain future at Aston Villa. The 18-year-old’s contract is up next summer and he’s no closer to putting pen to paper on an extension beyond 2021. The Daily Mail say RB Leipzig are looking to take advantage of his situation by procuring his signature for cheap when the winter transfer window […]
Aston Villa travel to face Manchester United on New Year’s Day and Dean Smith could make three changes for the trip to Old Trafford. The Premier League confirmed that Tyrone Mings has returned from suspension and Ross Barkley confirmed that he’s recovered from injury, but time will tell if they both start on Friday. Ezri […]
Frederic Guilbert has been short of playing time at Aston Villa this season and could do with first-team football elsewhere to boost his match fitness. Dean Smith appears to agree as Football Insider reveal plans to loan out the out-of-favour right-back when the winter transfer window opens. Guilbert finds himself behind Matty Cash and Ahmed […]
Jed Steer could be on his way out of Aston Villa after struggling for playing time and being bumped down the pecking order by Dean Smith, but he may have to wait until the summer to be granted a move. Lovre Kalinic will be loaned out in January, so Steer will have to stay put […]
Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Chelsea on Monday and John McGinn was hailed by many supporters for his “superb performance” at Stamford Bridge. Nobody drew as many fouls or created more chances than the 26-year-old, while only Matt Targett had more touches and only Matty Cash and Douglas Luiz turned over possession more during the […]
