Tim Sherwood is expected to act quickly to replace Christian Benteke who has left for Liverpool. Reports in France from Sud Ouest indicate that Villa have tabled a €18-million bid for Bordeaux striker, Diego Rolan.
Rolan, 22, hit 15 goals last season for the Ligue One side and also has 6 full Uruguayan caps to his name.
Manager, Tim Sherwood has been linked with numerous strikers over the course of the summer with the Benteke move looking likely for some time.
Other links include a move for QPR, striker Charlie Austin valued at £15-million and Spurs outcast, Emmanuel Adebayor who Sherwood worked well with during his spell as manager at White Hart Lane.
Big Boots To Fill
Benteke has arguably been Villa’s best striker in the past 15 years. His goals have been vital especially in the past two seasons. His ratios aren’t too bad either scoring 42 times in 88 appearances for the Villans.
For Villa to have a good chance of improvement this season a new striker has to be top of ‘Tim’s shopping list.
