Aston Villa face competition from Tottenham for Kim Min-jae, with a new report claiming £30million could secure the Bayern Munich defender next summer.
TEAMtalk reports that Villa, Spurs and AC Milan remain interested after making contact during the summer without submitting formal bids.
However, the report stresses that nothing is advanced and Kim remains comfortable at Bayern.
Kim Min-jae transfer report points towards summer move
The South Korea international’s contract runs until 2028, according to TEAMtalk, which describes next summer as a more realistic opportunity than January.
It claims Bayern could consider a sale, with any winter departure dependent on bringing in another centre-back.
The player’s stance presents another obstacle. TEAMtalk says Kim turned down Villa interest during the summer and has not been pushing to leave Munich.
The reported valuation therefore offers a potential starting point, rather than evidence that Villa have agreed a fee or persuaded him to move.
Villa’s immediate defensive picture improves
Unai Emery has received more immediate encouragement through Pau Torres’ return to action against Sevilla.
Torres came on at half-time in Friday’s friendly, strengthening Villa’s options before competitive football resumes.
That recovery and the Kim links operate on different timelines. One concerns the squad available to Emery now; the other is a reported recruitment possibility for a future window.
For Villa to turn interest into a realistic deal, both Bayern’s willingness to sell and Kim’s willingness to leave would need to align.
