Jose Angel Crespo has played for Spain at all youth levels helping Spain to win the U19 European Championship in 2006. At the time, he was at Sevilla. He was part of the Sevilla side who won the UEFA Cup in 2006, but moved on in 2010 after only making 25 appearances in the first team.

Crespo kicked on in 2010 joining Italian side, Padova where he impressed at right-back making 43 appearances. In 2011, Bologna picked him up where he remained till early 2015, making 17 appearances before being moved out on loan to  Verona, and Cordoba where he spent the majority of last season.

Despite being a relative unknown the Villa faithful are used to such signings, but with numbers looking low in the first-team it could be a vital addition. Here is what a Cordoba English account had to say on him.
