Reports in the Daily Express from Peter Edwards are suggesting Aston Villa are close to capturing veteran ex-Monaco forward, Dimitar Berbatov.
The 34-year old wants one final swansong in the Premier League before retirement with a close source to Berbatov saying that he has had offers from ”Germany and Turkey but his desire is to play in England once again” the source also said it could be the Bulgarian top scorers “last chance” to play in England.
Berbatov is known for his lackadaisical work rate but also his flamboyant etiquette when he is on form. A Berbatov in mood gives you ten men on the pitch effectively. But a Berbatov on song is a real handful for any defender and with his proven Premier League pedigree it is understandable why manager, Tim Sherwood is weighing up a move for the former Manchester United man.
The last time Berbatov played in the Premier League was in 2013/14 when Fulham were relegated from England’s top division.
