Aston Villa have reportedly tabled a £1-million bid for West Brom centre-back Joleon Lescott. With Laurie Whitwell in the Daily Mirror reporting Tim Sherwood, is eager to bolster his defensive options.
The 32-year old was signed by the Baggies last summer on a free after Manchester City let his contract run down. It is believed West Brom will reject the outrageous £1-million offer as they look to keep hold of one of their star performers from last season.
Just last week Villa rejected advances from West Brom for defender, Ciaran Clark so for Villa to launch a bid for Lescott comes as a real surprise especially as Tim Sherwood has already added three defenders to his squad this summer. But, with the impending departure of Nathan Baker to Burnley Villa’s recruitment team will be keen to add another defender to the squad with the likes of Aly Cissokho and Phillipe Senderos being told they can go and find a new club.
