Benik Afobe Staying Put

Championship club Wolves have released a statement today dismissing any possible sale of Benik Afobe or any first team players.

The statement comes as Benik Afobe is pursued by several of Premier League clubs, With Tim Sherwood being spotted in the stands watching the former Arsenal striker scoring the first goal of the game against QPR on Wednesday.

Afobe, 22 signed for Wolves permanently in January this year for a fee believed to be around £2m after a successful loan spell at MK Dons.

It is also reported that newly promoted Premier League side Norwich City are interested in the Arsenal academy graduate – with Sky Sports News reporting that a “substantial offer” had been made for the striker from the club.

Afobe’s goal record at Wolves is impressive, scoring 15 in 24 for the Black Country side. He finished the top scorer in England last season.

The 22-year old has represented England at U21 level twice scoring the one goal.
