Aston Villa outcast, Aleksander Tonev is in talks with Serie A new boys, Frosinone according to Tutto Mercato journalist, Gianluigi Longari.
Longari reports that the Bulgarian international is in advanced talks to end his hellish two years in British football.
The 25-year old was recommended to ex-Villa manager, Paul Lambert in the summer of 2013 by Villa legend, Stiliyan Petrov. Tonev joined in the same transfer window from Lech Poznan.
Tonev has only made 17 appearances in a Claret and Blue shirt with all of them coming in his debut campaign. He soon gained a reputation from the Villa faithful for his wayward long-shots and his general poor form.
Last season Tonev was loaned out to Scottish outfit, Celtic where his spell was clouded with controversy. Tonev was accused of racially abusing Aberdeen full-back Shay Logan. He was subsequently given a seven-match ban for “using abusive language of a racist nature”. He failed to make an appearance after his ban.
