Aston Villa have had launched a move for Crystal Palace striker, Dwight Gayle with Sky Sports reporting live on air that the first bid made by the Villans has already been rejected by the Eagles.
The Eagles striker has fallen out of favour at Selhurst Park despite finding the net ten times in 29 appearances last season under Neil Warnock and Alan Pardew over the course of the season.
Gayle has been subject of many bids this summer with the 24-year old turning down a move to Bristol City earlier on in the transfer window. The Guardian at the time reported that Bristol had had a £6-million bid accepted for the former-Dagenham man.
Villa have already brought in two strikers this summer in Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew, but it has became apparent that Sherwood is still in the market for another striker. Sky Sports reported this morning that Dimitar Berbatov was in the Midlands.
Interesting name in the mix at @AVFCOfficial #avfc on #SkyDeadlineDay – Dimitar Berbatov. Our understanding he's in the Midlands, but why?
