Villa scouts keeping tabs in Portugal

Aston Villa have sent scouts to Portugal this week to watch 2 young players who ply their trade in the Super Liga, according to ClubCall.

It is reported that French centre back Wily Boly was a player being watched by Aston Villa scouts at the weekend – a player that Remi Garde has excellent knowledge of after he represented France at U19 level several times.

The French 24-year-old has appeared 11 times for Braga this season.

It is also reported that Aston Villa were keeping tabs on German goalkeeper Lukas Raeder who is current on loan Vitoria Setubla from Bayern Munich. It has been widely reported that Remi Garde is looking to replace Brad Guzan after questionable performances in the Premier League this season.

Raeder, has appeared 23 times during his 18 months in Portugal with another half a season of his 2 year loan to go.

It seems Remi Garde is taking no time in assessing options and availability in the transfer market early into his Villa career.
