Crespo set for move back to La Liga

Jose Angel Crespo is set for a move back to his native La Liga this January after failing to impress at Villa Park over the first part of the season, according to Marca.

Crespo, who joined Aston Villa from Cordoba in the summer has only made the one appearance in a Villa shirt so far this season and it is expected that the Spaniard is set to join Rayo Vallecano, with both party’s involved trying to sort a deal.

Speaking to Marca, Crespo has said “I know there is interest, it’s in the hands of my representatives. The situation here is not good. I’m not playing and I want minutes.”

It adds to the list of Remi Garde’s problems in the transfer market, struggling to get players into the club due to the precarious position, and struggling to give game time to recent signings.

Crespo joined Aston Villa in the summer for around £500k which Aston Villa are set to recoup with any deal that see’s Crespo leave Villa Park.
