Sunderland swooping late for N’Zogbia

It’s late in the day on this transfer deadline day, with less than an hour to go until the British window slams shut, at 11pm GMT; but there is still business to be done at Villa Park.

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is reportedly interested in taking Charles N’Zogbia to the Stadium of Light in quite literally the eleventh hour, according to Jim White on Sky Sports News.

Damian Spellman of the Press Association is wary that the deal could be a way off yet, but could this be the deadline day drama the entire country has been waiting for?

With Jordi Gomez leaving the Black Cats tonight, the midfield has a hole in it – and N’Zogbia could be used as a squad player by Allardyce in the Wearside club’s bid for Premier League survivial.

The Frenchman, who is currently valued at just over £1 million by transfermarkt, was purchased by the Villains from Wigan Athletic for £7.56 million in 2011 – and is not in favour under Remi Garde.
