Aston Villa have joined Leeds United and Cardiff City in the race for the Kalmar FF striker Marcus Antonsson according to reports in Sweden.
Fotboll Direkt report that Antonsson’s agent has been speaking openly about talks with the Championship sides with many teams showing an interest in bringing him to England.
Antonsson is midway through his second season at Kalmar having joined the Allsvenskan side in 2015 from Halmstads BK where he began his professional career in 2010.
During his five years at Halmstads he grew through the ranks but remained a bit part player only making 145 appearances in five years before making the move to Kalmar.
Since joining Kalmar he has found his feet though, scoring on 22 occasions in 45 games attracting interest from the Championship.
It is believed that Kalmar would be willing to accept around €1.5 million for their star striker.
