Aston Villa are expected to complete the signing of Pierluigi Gollini from Hellas Verona today.
The Birmingham Mail report that the goalkeeper is expected to join up with Roberto Di Matteo’s squad in Austria for a pre season training camp with a deal to be confirmed today.
The former Manchester United shot stopper had been waiting on his medical results after a delay to them arriving with the correct people at Villa Park.
Tutto Mercato had previously reported how the Villans were set to pay between €5-6 million for the 21 year old.
Last season Gollini made 26 appearances in the Serie A for Verona. He has represented Italy at U19 level.
Gollini arrives at the Midlands side after Roberto Di Matteo’s goalkeeping coach, Massimo Battara personally gave his recommendation.
Brad Guzan’s future at Villa has already been thrown into question after a tough season between the sticks last time out.
