According to French news outlet But!, Aston Villa have been handed a massive boost in their chase for FC Nantes forward Yacine Bammou.
This comes as it has recently been confirmed that the Ligue 1 club have signed Mariusz Stepinski from Ruch Chorzow – another striker.
The reports claims that Nantes will now look to offload the Moroccan forward given their recent addition of another forward due to Bammou’s chances of consistent first-team football for the Ligue 1 side now being significantly lower.
The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Villa Park just days ago – with fellow Championship rivals Leeds United also claimed in the report to have shown interest – and it now looks as though a move is even more realistic and likely than what was first seemed.
Roberto Di Matteo will be keen to bolster his striking options as his side get well underway with a difficult Championship campaign.
