Aston Villa’s longest serving player is to be loaned out to see if he can regather his form and fitness.
The Villans owner Dr Tony Xia revealed on twitter that Gabriel Agbonlahor held talks with himself and manager Roberto Di Matteo at Bodymoor Heath to decide on his future.
Twitter: We’ll find a club loan him playing for one season 2 see whether he really can be fully fit&then back playing for us. https://t.co/vR93MFCVUb (@Dr_TonyXia)
Agbonlahor has spent his whole professional career at Villa Park, but in recent years he has struggled for any sort of form and consistent patch of fitness. Now seemingly he will be sent out on loan to see what he is still capable of.
Dr Tony Xia revealed that Agbonlahor had realised he had made bad calls in recent years and that he was ‘working hard’ to get fit.
The 29 year old last went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday back in 2005 as well as spending time at Watford before properly starting his career in a claret and blue shirt.
He has found life tough at B6 more so in the past season or so with Aston Villa’s decline leading to many fans turning on him for his lack of fitness and lifestyle choices.
