Olympiacos move for Jordan Ayew

Olympiacos could make a move for Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew before the window shuts on Wednesday.

Greek news outlet Sport24 report how Olympiacos boss Paulo Bento was targeting former Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo but it looks likely he will miss out on him and move for Jordan Ayew.

It is said that Roberto Di Matteo isn’t keen on letting the former Marseille striker leave before the window shuts as he sees him as a vital link in his push for a first time return to the Premier League.

Ayew joined the Midlands side from Lorient last summer for a fee believed to be around £10 million and found the net seven times in a disastrous relegation campaign.

He has started the season out wide so far under Roberto Di Matteo but has found his luck cut out so far failing to convert any of the chances he has had.
