Aston Villa are looking to appoint West Ham United coach Chris Woods as their new goalkeeping coach under Steve Bruce according to a report.
The Mail Online report how Woods could be appointed as the next man to be part of Bruce’s new backroom team at B6.
Massimo Battara left the club the other day after Steve Bruce was appointed as manager leaving a vacant role as goalkeeping coach.
Battara personally recommended Aston Villa goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini to Roberto Di Matteo in the summer which could come as a blow to the Italian U21 international.
Woods has worked with Aston Villa technical director Steve Round before at Manchester United and Everton but left United in 2014 after David Moyes left. He also spent time with Steve Bruce at Norwich City in his playing days.
He moved to the Hammers last summer and could well move again to link up with Round again.
It has been previously rumoured that Gary Walsh would be moving to the club as goalkeeping coach.
