Villa eyeing move for Quitongo

Aston Villa are eyeing up a move for Greenock Morton forward Jai Quitongo, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that Villa are one of a number of clubs interested in the winger; Crystal Palace, West Ham, Swansea and Wigan are all also said to be keen.

Quitongo is out of contract next summer, which means clubs are able to discuss contract talks with him in January ahead of a potential move at the end of the season.

The 19-year-old is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Scottish outfit. This means that Villa could swoop in and take advantage, snatching him up on a free transfer when his contract expires.

The winger has scored six goals already this season, which has attracted interest from a number of suitors in England – including Villa.

Doncaster Rovers had an offer rejected in the summer – thought to be worth £100,000 – but Villa now look like they are ready to move in.
