Aston Villa scouts watch international

Aston Villa scouts have continued their European scouting mission during the international break with some expected to attend Austria’s match vs Slovakia on Tuesday evening.

The Villans team were out watching Austria take on Ireland earlier in the week which could suggest they’re keeping a close eye on an Austrian international or it could be a pure coincidence.

Eric Willemsen, a Dutch writer based in Austria revealed the list of scouts in attendance for the game along with Roy Hodgson who will also be at the World Cup 2018 qualifier.

Manchester United are the only other English side in attendance at the game with different teams sending scouts from across Europe.

Ian Atkins, the new lead of Aston Villa’s European scouting network has been busy so far in restructuring the club’s system after moving from Everton.

He revealed via his LinkedIn about what he was now in charge of at Villa Park.
