Portuguese and Chinese sides want Villa midfielder

Aston Villa could have to fend off interest from Chinese and Portuguese sides who are both showing an interest in their midfielder Leandro Bacuna.

Dutch news outlet Voetbal report how sides in China had enquired about the 25-year-old and there was ‘concrete interest’ from a side in the top division of Portugal’s domestic league.

Bacuna is currently contracted to the Championship side until 2020 and has previously been linked with a move away from Villa Park in the summer with Turkish side Trabzonspor showing an interest.

He has featured 16 times so far this season for the Villans in midfield and scored once whilst assisting another.

The former FC Groningen man has done well to turn around his relationship with the Villa fanbase after infamously declaring he would like to join PSV or Ajax within the next two years to play Champions League football.

Bacuna recently told the Birmingham Mail how he is working hard to restore the faith with the fans at Villa Park.

There was a time when the fans weren’t pleased but I have settled down and I’m trying to push on now.
