According to the Birmingham Mail, Steve Bruce will try to tempt Norwich into parting ways with Robbie Brady by offering them Ross McCormack in exchange.
McCormack hasn’t started any matches under Bruce and he was left on the bench when Villa faced Spurs in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon – Gabby Agbonlahor was preferred instead.
Bruce is well-known to be a keen admirer of Brady as he managed him when he was in charge at Hull City. Bruce had to reluctantly sell him when they were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2014/15 season.
Norwich have always been interested in McCormack. In fact, they were the frontrunners to sign the Scottish striker until Villa decided to pounce and put in an offer for him. Fulham were unable to resist Villa’s 12 million bid, and McCormack was always going to choose Villa since they offered him the much better wages.
The striker has recently been linked with a loan move away, but Bruce ruled that out and called the rumour, ‘a load of rubbish.’ However, if these latest rumours are to be believed, it looks like there could be a possibility of McCormack leaving Villa Park after all.
