Villa Have Bid Accepted For Championship Ace
According to the Express, Villa have had a £3 million bid accepted for Nottingham Forest’s goalscoring midfielder Henri Lansbury.
Lansbury, who has scored 6 goals this season, will reportedly undergo a medical at Villa Park in the coming days and it is hoped that the deal will be complete before the weekend – although he probably won’t play any part in the match against Wolves on Saturday evening.
Talks had recently hit a bit of a stumbling block as Nottingham Forest are set to change ownership within the coming week with American John Jay Moore taking over. It had even been mentioned that no deal would be talked about until the takeover has been completed, but it seems that Moore has realised that he cannot afford to let Lansbury stay at the club and run out his contract which expires in the summer.
Lansbury would be a great signing for Villa as they are extremely light in the midfield at the moment, and £3 million for someone of Lansbury’s quality and Championship experience represents a very good piece of business.
