Villa submit Hourihane bid

Villa submit Hourihane bid

Aston Villa have submitted a £1 million bid for Celtic, Sheffield Wednesday and Rangers target, Conor Hourihane.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the former Plymouth Argyle captain is thought to be high on Steve Bruce’s wish list this January, as he aims to improve the Villa squad.

Hourihane’s contract at Barnsley runs out at the end of the season and they look set to lose him after a stand-out campaign for the newly-promoted side.

The midfielder has scored five goals already this season and has helped Barnsley to a fantastic start in the Championship, as they find themselves eighth in the table.

Barnsley risk losing the player for nothing if they do not sell him in January, and will want to get as much as they can, with a sell-on percentage set to go his former side, Plymouth Argyle.

Villa have also tabled a bid for Henri Lansbury in a window that could see Bruce completely reshape his midfield.
