Steve Bruce is hoping to complete a swap deal involving Jordan Ayew and Swansea’s Modou Barrow.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Bruce is ready to sacrifice the forward in order to bring in the pacy winger.
Ayew is currently out of contention with Villa, with the forward in action in the African Cup of Nations.
Despite only scoring three goals all season, he has been linked with moves away from the club, with reported interest from the Premier League and the Chinese Super League.
Barrow has been linked with a move away from Swansea after impressing last season.

Newcastle and Crystal Palace were interested in the summer but did not want to pay the £10 million asking price.
The report suggests that Barrow has a £5 million relegation release clause in his contract, something that could help Bruce wager a better deal for the player.
The winger has failed to score for the Swans this season but has recently been sidelined with injuries.
