According to the Daily Star, Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack is all but certain to leave Villa Park by Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline.
There are a number of clubs that are interested in acquiring his services. This includes Norwich, who had tried to sign the Scottish international in the summer, but missed out on him to Villa. QPR are also said to be very interested in signing him as Ian Holloway is a big admirer of the Scot. Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County are also reportedly keen.
Steve Bruce has fallen out with the 30-year-old after he failed to turn up to training and blamed his absence on the fact that the electronic gates to his house were not functioning properly. Bruce was rightfully incensed by this lame excuse and even confronted the player at his house. As a result, he has been training with the development squad ever since.
If no one wants to buy him or are unable to meet Villa’s asking price, then they are willing to let him go out on loan and are even prepared to pay half of his 45k-a-week wages.
