This is why Villa Will be keeping an eye on these deals

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa will be carefully monitoring the process of two mega-money transfer moves this summer as they could both have an effect on the club.

Real Madrid continue to be linked with United’s David De Gea, and if he were to move back to Spain, United would be forced to find a suitable replacement and may, therefore, decide to keep their current goalkeepers on board until they manage to strengthen the department.

Villa boss Steve Bruce has already admitted that it will be very difficult to sign Johnstone permanently, but he hopes that season-long loan can be agreed. Discussions have already taken place with Mourinho, and the early signs are very positive.

However, Villa know that there are other clubs who are after Johnstone’s signature. Everton have registered an interest and might turn to Johnstone should they fail to land Jordan Pickford from relegated Sunderland. The young ace is Everton’s number one target this summer, and they would be willing to pay around £15 million for him. However, the Black Cats want around £30 million for their prized asset. According to sources on Merseyside, Everton are not willing to pay that much, and if they can’t get their target for the right price, they’ll look elsewhere.

One deal that has already been sorted, and will please Bruce, was Asmir Begovic’s switch to Bournemouth in a deal though to be around £10 million. The Cherries were also interested in Johnstone, but are now unlikely to go back in for him as they’ve already got their No. 1 sorted for next season.
