Aston Villa interested in signing John Terry

Steve Bruce wanted to improve the Aston Villa defence this summer and reportedly has his eyes on a veteran addition to his squad.

According to Sky Sources, Villa are believed to be interested in signing former Chelsea captain John Terry on a free transfer this summer.

The 36-year-old centre-back will leave Chelsea at the end of this month when his contract expires, ending a 22-year association with the club where he made 717 appearances for the club, scoring 67 times.

Chelsea have decided to allow the former England captain to leave the club this summer and Terry wants to continue playing and play regularly.

It’s believed that Terry has already held talks with Bruce over a move to Villa Park this summer.

Villa are tight on funds will need to supplement their squad wth free transfers and they don’t come much bigger than Terry.
