According to a report published in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are second favourites to sign England international keeper Joe Hart.
The current Manchester City shot-stopper is desperate for a move away from The Etihad after Guardiola made it perfectly clear last summer that he wasn’t part of his plans. As a result, Hart spent the whole of last season on-loan at Serie A side Torino, where he made 36 appearances.
As we enter a World Cup year, Joe Hart is desperately searching for first team football, and opportunities to join City’s rivals seem rather limited.
Meanwhile, Steve Bruce is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper as last season’s first choice Sam Johnstone has returned to Manchester United, and it is still uncertain whether he will be playing at Villa Park come the start of the season.
If Hart, and admittedly that’s a big if, does decide to come play his football in the Second City next season it would be another fantastic signing for Villa this transfer window.
