According to a report in the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are keen on acquiring the services of Villa midfielder Gary Gardner.
The 25-year-old, who came threw the ranks at Villa, has found himself in and out of the starting XI ever since he made his debut for the senior side back in 2011.
When he first started, he was regarded as one of the club’s bright prospects, but injuries and managerial changes have stunted his progress. As a result, he is now keen for a fresh start elsewhere.
The midfielder knows Nottingham Forest well as he has played their previously during two loan spells. He spent the second half of the 2014-15 and 2015-16 season at the club, making 38 appearances and scoring 6 goals.
Gardner made 27 appearance for Villa last season, but the arrival of Glenn Whelan from Stoke has pushed him further down the club’s midfield pecking order.
Gardner hasn’t traveled to Germany with the rest of the squad which seems to suggest that he will be leaving the club this summer.
